The academic period in Jamia Ashrafia Lahore is from 16 Shawwal to 15 Shaban, during the year the seven-day holiday is only on Friday, during the rest of the days, the work of education continues continuously and six hours of lessons per day are necessary for every student. , four hours in the morning and two hours after Zuhr prayer, annual holidays are generally from 10th Shaban to 7th Shawwal, while there is also a 9-day holiday on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

                                                                                       Exams:

Three examinations are conducted during the academic year: usually the quarterly examination is held in the first week of the month of       Safar, the half-yearly examination is held in the first week of Jumadi-ul-Awla and the annual examination is held in the first decade of           Sha’ban.

                                                                            Study and revision:

Two assignments related to each course are compulsory for students. A study of the book for the next day’s lesson, so that the student’s mind is prepared for the lesson and he can understand the lesson in front of the teacher with insight and attention.
The second task is to repeat the lesson learned. “Repetition” is a term for madrasahs, the students usually sit in small circles at night after reading the lesson from the teacher. One of these students repeats the lesson learned according to the method taught by the teacher. This method is a prominent feature of the teaching system, through which not only the learned lesson is fixed in the mind of every student, but at the same time he also gets practical training in teaching and expressing apologetic conscience. Repetition is mandatory for almost every class of students.

                                                                                  Facilities:

There is no tuition fee for Darus-i-Nizami students in Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, and accommodation, food, first aid and to some extent medical facilities are provided free of charge by the Jamia. If a student can afford it, he can get accommodation by paying rent and buying food.
