Early introduction:
Hadhrat Sufi Muhammad Sarwar was on December 7th, 1933 corresponding to 1352 year of hijrah, in Gurdaspur India. His father Chaudhry was a simple and pious man, who was serving as a high official in the department of agriculture.
Education:
Since, his childhood, he was inclined towards religion. His father, Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan was a public servant, therefore, he had to transfer from place to another, thus, Hadhrat completed his early education at different places. Initially he got his early education in his native town Gurdaspur, then, after the inception of Pakistan 1947, he migrated to shahkot, an out curt of Sheikhupura. He passed grade 9th exam from poly technic college Sialkot in first division, and in 1949, he passed his matriculation from government high school Jhelum with distinction. After matriculation, in order to quench his thirst of knowledge, he came to Mufti Muhammad Hassan in Lahore. Mufti Hassan, along with his son Maulana Abdul Rahman Ashrafi sent Hadhrat Sufi Sahib to Qari khudabaksh ؒ in order to study Nahv mir and sarf book Qanoon Ckhi wali] For several months, he studied in Jamia Ashrafia, then upon advice of Mufti Muhammad Hassan he went to Khair-ul-Madaris Multan, where he completed syllabus of 2.5 years in just one year. He stayed in Multan for five and a half years, then upon recommendation of his teachers in Multan, he returned to Jamia Ashrafia Lahore, where he studied for one year and received graduation cap from his sheikh Mufti Muhammad Hassan. Then he went to Jamia Darul-ul-Uloom Karachi, where for some time, he studied Takhasus fil Fiqh [ specialization in fiqh] under Mufti Muhammad Shafi ؒ
Academic carrier:
Due hadhrat’s intelligence and intellectual capability, he got a chance to teach one of the most difficult books of logic Mula Hassan, He taught in Jamia Ashrafia till 1956, then in 1957 he went to Khair-ul-Madaris Multan and taught there for three till 1960. Then in 1960 he joined Darul-ul-Uloom Kabeer Wala there he taught Tirmidhi and other books of fanoon for ten years till 1970. Then, upon special insistence of Maulana Ubaydullah, he returned to Jamia Ashrafia and started teaching Abu daud and other books. In 1988, after the demise of Maulana Muhammad Malik Kandhlvi’s, Hadhrat Sufi Muhammad Sarwar was appointed sheikh since then, he had taught Abu Daud and Bukhari for 48 and 30 years respectively, till his death.
His famous teachers. Amongst the teachers of Hadhrat Sufi Muhammad Sarwar, upon the top of list was sheikh-ul-mashaikh Mufti Muhammad Hassan, founder Jamia Ashrafia.
His teachers include, Maulana Khair Muhammad Jalandari, Maulana Rasul Khan Hazarwi, Maulana Muhammad Idrees Kandhalvi, Maulana Muhammad Kashmiri, Qari Raheem Baksh panipati, Maulana Zia Ullah, Mufti Muhammad Shafi, Alama Khalid Mahmood, and other famous ulemas.
Writings:
He wrote 6-volumes brief and comprehensive commentary of Sahih bukhari [one of the most famous books of hadith] with the title “Khair aljari” Similarly, he also wrote brief commentary of Abu Daud “Alhassan mabood” in two volumes, Brief commentary of Tirmidhi [dars alshazi]. He also summarized Mukhtasar Al-mani. His other books include Hussun Ashraf Hussun Hus sun Jala lain, Ahsan-ul-mawaiz, Tahseen almubani, and other several works are noted in this s regard.
Silsila Tariq at:
As soon as he completed his school education and came to mufti Muhammad Hassan, he was associated with him and remained associated with him for 12 years till mufti Sahab’s death in 1961. Then he went to Maulana Muhammad Sharif of Multan, and then, in 1986 he joined Masih-ul-Ummar Maulana Masiullah khan.
In 2017 convention of Majlis Sian at-ul-Muslimeen, on Friday after Asar prayer, he delivered a lecture, and later on arranged a meeting of his students in Jamia Abdullah bin Umar Lahore and presented them his wasia [will] He had completed the academic session of 2017-2018 [1438-39] and after the declaration of the results of final exams, we came of his illness, his majlis after Asar got suspended and then, on15th of May 201, when wife came to wake him up for tahajud prayer, she saw that he had left for his eternal abord. His funeral was led by his son maulana Ateeq-ur-Rahman, after dhur prayer on the same day, and was buried in Ichra grave yard.
His grave receives a special fragrance, which kept on appearing for several days and it was witnessed by scholars and righteous people. May Allah grant him high rank in paradise.
